How we build
Bold ideas, built from the ground up.
Every technology that changed how people live started as an idea the field considered wrong, impossible, or beneath it.
Reason from what is true, not from what is agreed.
Consensus is a shortcut through someone else's reasoning. Take the problem apart to the physics, the biology, the cost floor — then rebuild it. That is what arché means, and it is the only method that produces something genuinely new.
Take the problem everyone else avoids.
The hardest problems are unclaimed for a reason: they are slow, unglamorous, regulated, or politically uncomfortable. That is exactly where the work that matters is, and why so little of it gets done.
Build in atoms, on a long clock.
Real technology needs instruments, trials, and years — not a weekend and a landing page. We structure access and capital for that timeline instead of pretending it away.
Be willing to be told you are wrong for a long time.
Conviction is the scarcest input in hard technology. The founders who change lives are the ones still building after the field has moved on, the round has stalled, and the experiment has failed nine times.

If something isn't answered here, put it in the application and we'll address it directly.
Do I need a wet lab to apply?
No. Computational and dry-lab builders are a first-class track, not an afterthought — bioinformatics, AI-driven discovery, digital health, and diagnostics software all belong here. If you do need a bench, that's what stage two exists for.
Do you take equity?
Not for community, and not for infrastructure access. Equity is only ever discussed at the capital stage, when we co-found with you — and only by mutual agreement. Nothing before that point is conditioned on giving anything up.
Do you have your own lab?
We run our own, and that's the centre of it — benches, instruments, and working space under one roof, so a team can walk in and start rather than negotiate for time. No single facility holds every instrument, so we pair it with standing agreements at university core facilities and CROs for the specialised work. The default is a place of your own to build in; brokering covers the edges.
Do I need to be incorporated, or have a team?
Neither. Solo technical founders and unincorporated projects are welcome. Part of what the capital stage does is help assemble the team around a strong builder.
What are you actually looking for?
Technical depth and a real reason it has to be you. We care more about what you've built or run than about credentials, and more about a specific hard problem than a broad market thesis.
How long does a decision take?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis rather than against a single deadline. You'll get a response either way — we don't leave applications unanswered.
